Oxford City Council's Planning Department’s website is detailed with many search options and can be reached here.
To search for a planning application
When you reach the website click on the View and comment on Planning Applications box You will then see five tabs to select from: Simple – search by keyword, reference number, postcode or single line of an address Advanced – search as Simple plus by Ward or Parish, etc. Weekly/Monthy Lists – Lists of all applications in a particular week or month by parish or ward Property – search by full property address Map – a map (zoom in for detail) showing red-lined positions of current applications. Click on a red-lined property to see address and link to details.
Note: Most of HRA is in Headington Ward, with Highfield Avenue, Finch Close and Old Road east of Lime Walk in Churchill Ward.
To receive regular lists of applications
You can also register your postcode with PlanningFinder to keep updated on developments happening in your area. Enter your postcode and the radius (as the crow flies) of the search circle around that postcode within for which you wish to have lists complied. Select one of:
one tenth of a mile
one quarter of a mil
half a mile
one mile.
Obviously, the postcode you enter does not need to be your own. If you don’t know the postcode of a particular address go to The Royal Mail’s postcode finder here.
